1 dead, 2 wounded in Bluefield, W.Va. shooting

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (WVVA) - UPDATE 7:30 p.m. Friday: According to Detective Lt. Kenneth Adams with the Bluefield, W.Va. Police Department -- 18-year-old Javon Lowe was taken to the Bluefield, W.Va. Emergency Room where he died at the hospital. He was shot once in the abdomen and buttocks.

Adams added A report came in Friday regarding a male, later identified as Lowe, who had been shot and was driving a car, before crashing into a garage at the corner of Spokane Ave. and Pen Mar Ave. in Bluefield, W.Va.. Two people then removed the male from the car to perform CPR.

Adams reports Lowe had been in a years-long argument with an individual, who’s home Lowe went to while armed. According to Adams, an argument ensued and Lowe then opened fire on two men outside the home. A 19-year-old was shot once in the knee, and a 43-year-old was shot once in the thigh.

No charges have been filed as of yet, and the case has been handed over to the prosecuting attorney’s office.

One person is dead and two are wounded following a shooting on View Avenue in Bluefield, West Virginia.

Bluefield Police Department received the call about the incident at 1:55 p.m.

When they arrived on scene, all three victims were transported to hospitals with one going to Princeton Community Hospital and two being sent to Bluefield Emergency Room. One succumbed to their injuries at the Bluefield ER.

Police are not sure what started the altercation, but it is still under investigation.
