Josh Croup started at WDTV in May 2018. He covers Marion and Taylor counties during the week and is the weekend anchor.

Josh was born and raised in Butler, Pennsylvania and went to school at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in broadcast reporting with minors in public relations/advertising and broadcast production.

The winner of the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for college/university talent, Josh had his hand in every campus media outlet at Point Park and was an active member of the campus community. He served as the news/sports director of U-View television, editor in chief of The Globe newspaper, and hosted a weekly sports radio show. He also worked in the Athletic Communications Department and was on the student advisory board of the Pittsburgh Center for Sports Media and Marketing.

Josh moved to Charleston, West Virginia after his freshman year of college to work as a video production intern for the West Virginia Power. He went on to work with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016 as a media relations intern and transitioned to the Penguins media relations staff for two years, including the 2016-17 Stanley Cup championship season. He additionally worked in the production truck at AT&T SportsNet in 2018 as a social media coordinator. Josh has also worked with WQED, the Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business, ESPN3, Fox Sports regional affiliates, and multiple visiting TV networks broadcasting NFL preseason games at Heinz Field.

In his spare time, Josh enjoys playing the drums, exploring new areas and watching whatever sporting event he can find. He also loves spending time with his family and his miniature schnauzer, Jack! Connect with him on social media and send any story ideas to jcroup@wdtv.com.
