Adam Wright joined WDTV as the weekend meteorologist in January 2020. He is now the morning meteorologist.
Adam is from a small town called Danville in North Alabama, in the heart of Dixie Alley. Adam witnessed the super tornado outbreak of April 2011, which helped grow his interest in Meteorology and finding ways to better communicate for public safety.
He graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in Meteorology and a minor in Mathematics. While at South Alabama he was a part of Jag-TV and Coastal Weather Center delivering the weather to students on campus. He experienced multiple severe weather outbreaks and hurricanes. Also, while in college he played trumpet for the Jaguar Marching Band for 4 years and was a part of Phi Mu Alpha Fraternity.
In his spare time, Adam loves to be with his wife Maranda and play with his 2-year-old Dalmatian, Stella. Adam also occasionally plays some video games on the weekends. He’s a big sports fan, rooting for the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team and the Cleveland Browns.
He is excited to be a part of the News 5 First Alert Weather Team and looks forward to forecasting weather on the weekends.
