MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WDTV) - At WVU's third annual Rural Health Day, pre-med students interested in rural medicine had the opportunity to learn more about the state's most specific rural health needs.

80 students from West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and Pennsylvania participated in hands-on workshops about suturing, ultrasounds, baby deliveries, and alternative pain management.

Rural physicians from across the state were on hand to speak with students and answer questions.

The educational event took place at the WVU Health Sciences Center.
