Alderson Broaddus University names new president
Dr. James "Tim" Barry has been named the university's 10th president by the Board of Trustees and Governors.
Barry has been serving as the university's interim president since December of 2015. During his time in that position, Barry helped create a model to help the university grow by expanding its programs and enrollment, as well as growing organizational efficiency.
AB Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Becky Hooman called Barry a "perfect fit."
“We appreciate the opportunity to continue to work with The Registry in extending Dr. Barry’s tenure at AB,” Hooman said. “He has conducted himself as a permanent president would from the day of his arrival, and we’re extremely grateful for his continued service.”
“I’m honored and privileged to be the 10th president of Alderson Broaddus University,” stated Dr. Barry. “These past three years serving as interim have been a wonderful experience for me, and I look forward to this time to continue to move the institution—along with the faculty, staff, and board of trustees—into greater success.”
