CLARKSBURG, W. Va. (WDTV) -- A bridge project will cause some traffic disruption in downtown Clarksburg.
The West Virginia Department of Highways announced Monday that the Notre Dame Bridge Project will begin Monday, June 17 around 7 a.m.
According to the release, the Notre Dame Arch Bridge will be closed to all traffic. The bridge is located on Pike Street near Monticello Avenue.
A detour will be set up on WV 20. There will be two lane traffic in each direction between Monticello Avenue and 2nd Street. Those streets are usually one way streets. According to the release, Monticello Ave. will also be two lane traffic in each direction.
According to a post on the City Hall of Clarksburg's Facebook page, a new bridge will be built over Elk Creek.
The road closure is anticipated to last through November. Drivers going through the area should expect delays.
