BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WDTV)-- Another week, another group of Bridgeport residents speaking out against the city council's decision to not renew the contract of city manager Kim Hawes.

This week the council approved a motion to hire the management consulting firm of Gov HR USA that will begin the search for a replacement city manager.

The process will cost the city and its tax payers an estimated $22,500.

All to find a candidate for a position that is currently filled by a man who wishes to keep the job.

The reasoning behind the decision has not been made clear and for that reason not every council member is on board.

Robert Greer spoke out against the vote and was the only member to vote against the approval of the consulting firm.
