Bridgeport Farmer's Market opens for it's summer hours

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WDTV) -- Today was opening day for a community favorite event.

The Bridgeport farmers market has opened in its familiar home at Charles Point for its summer operating hours.

For opening day plenty of people came out to enjoy what the market had to offer.

There were a variety of vendors offering foods and crafts, live music, and a new addition to the farmers market, fire kettled popcorn.

Debbie Workman a Bridgeport Farmer's Market Board Member says "We're a farmer's market so our main goal is to provide fresh local food to the community, we are also a destination. You can come and you can shop local and you can spend a couple hours here with your family sign your kids up for the pop club, have some brunch, and just make it a weekly event that you attend here in Bridgeport."

The market is open every Sunday from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.
