Brush fire burns 6-7 acres of land in Preston County

PRESTON COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A brush fire in Preston County Saturday took close to five hours to extinguish as it burned nearly seven acres of land.

Crews were called to a brush fire around 1:30 p.m. to the Briery Mountains, according to the Kingwood Fire Department's Facebook page.

Officials said the fire took around 4.5 hours to extinguish as it burned up to seven acres of land.

The Kingwood and Albright Volunteer Fire Departments responded.

There was no word on how that fire started.
