UPDATE: Sen. Capito office vandalized

West Virginia Republican senator Shelley Moore Capito is insisting that Medicaid expansion be preserved in the GOP's Obamacare replacement proposal.

More information has been released about the vandalism.

The Morgantown Police Department reported that officers responded to reports of vandalism at the office on Donley Street late Sunday morning.

“(expletive) Capito (expletive) Capital” was spray-painted in black letters on the outside of the building. It was reportedly put there between midnight and 9: a.m. the same morning.

The owner of the building (which leases offices to Capito and staff) was unaware of the vandalism before being notified by authorities.

The graffiti has been removed. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Morgantown Police Department at 304-284-7522.

Details of the vandalism were not available, but a spokesperson says the incident has been reported to Capitol Police.
