Truck crashes into kitchen of Clarksburg home while owner was cooking

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WDTV) - The driver of a pickup truck lost control and crashed into a home in Clarksburg Sunday afternoon.

It happened on Williams Aveneue around 2 p.m.

Witnesses said the driver lost control because of an unknown medical condition when they ran through a yard, hit a stop sign, went through another yard, and into the home at the corner of Williams Avenue and North 20th Street.

The truck went into the kitchen of the house, where the homeowner was cooking at the time of the accident. She told 5 News that she went to the hospital as a precaution, but said she is okay.

There is no word on the driver's condition. 911 dispatchers say they were taken to UHC.

The Clarksburg Police Department is investigating.
