Charleston man charged after unknowingly trying to sell drugs to officer

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A Charleston man has been arrested after tried to sell drugs to a person that happened to be with a police officer.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were searching a vehicle in Harrison County that had been involved in a robbery, when a cell phone rang. An officer answered the phone and a person told him that he had "ice" if he wanted it.

Officials say the officer arranged to meet the person at a business in Nutter Fort. When a car arrived, the officer could smell burnt marihuana coming from it. 19-year-old Shaliek Reaves was found with methamphetamine and a stolen gun. A minor in the car was also found with heroin on them.

Reaves is charged with possession with intent to deliver.
