CLARKSBURG, W. Va. (WDTV) -- Clarksburg City Council was discussing the turf project for the Clarksburg City Park at Nutter Fort.
The project originally was set to cost the city close to $800,000 but it's now down to $325,000 thanks to local donations of contracting work and materials.
"Actually a lot of our local high school students use the field and some of the universities and colleges. So this will not only help our local community but we will be able to bring in schools and teams from outside the area, hopefully other states. So its a significant finical impact for the city of Clarksburg and the surrounding area, " said Mayor Cathy Goings.
Council is excited to bring more opportunities to the community.
