UPDATE: Clarksburg names Annette Wright as interim city manager

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WDTV) -- UPDATE: 7/12/2019 11:30 a.m.

Annette Wright as interim city manager

City Clerk Annette Wright has been named as interim city manager.

After a special meeting calling for public comment Thursday night, Clarksburg city council votes to pass a resolution to suspend city manager Martin Howe.

The meeting started at 6 p.m. Thursday night and lasted until around 9 p.m.

Members of the public were given a chance to voice their concerns about City Manager Howe.

Allegations brought against Howe by the new mayor Ryan Kennedy were discussed including misappropriating funds and disrespect toward other members of council.

The passing of the resolution means council will suspend him for 30 days to investigate the allegations and then determine whether they want him to remain as our city manager.
