Clarksburg council votes to change meeting times

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WDTV) — A big change coming for Clarksburg City council meetings.

Council voted unanimously, Thursday, to move their meeting times from 7 p.m. until 6 p.m. This change will go into effect starting the first meeting of 2018. They are doing this in the hopes that more people will attend and get involved in the community.

Council also voted unanimously to renew City Manager Martin Howe's contract. It will run through 2022.

Two of the city's sports teams were honored at the meeting. Council members recognized the efforts of the Robert C. Byrd High School's girls' soccer team, which won the state title, and the Liberty High School cheerleading squad, which took home the honor of the 2017 Big 10 Conference Cheer Championship!
