MORGANTOWN W. Va. (WDTV)-- Apple Annie's Bakery in Morgantown came up with a clever way to bring attention to the bad road conditions in the area.
The owner and head baker think of ideas for new cupcakes every day.
In an effort to think out-of-the-box and be relatable to the community the pothole cupcake was related.
The chocolate cupcake is topped with chocolate frosting and a traffic cone.
Apple Annie's says they sell out of them every time they make them and people even call in for special orders.
With nearly 800 likes and several shares on their Facebook post, the cupcake is deemed a hit.
"Let's just do pothole cupcakes. There seem to be plenty of those around here. The more we talked about it the more we thought about how it would look and the kind of response it might get and how people would commiserate with us," said Owner, Peter Padula.
They say everyone seems to enjoy them and get a good laugh when they see it. They even say that people are taking them to city council meetings.
