UPDATE: Man transported from Stonewood fire dies at hospital

STONEWOOD, W.VA. (WTDV)-- UPDATE 11/06/19 @ Noon
A man is dead after he was transported from a fire in Stonewood on Monday.

West Virginia State Fire Marshal Jason Baltic says the man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Baltic believes that the man died from smoke inhalation.

The identity of the victim is unknown at this time.

One person is hurt after house fire in Stonewood.

Multiple crews responded to that fire Monday morning.

According to 911 officials the person hurt in the fire is being treated for their injuries.

It happened around 9:15 at a home on Elk Ave.

Nutter Fort and Stonewood Fire responded.

No word on what caused the fire or any other injuries.
