Deckers Creek is getting a new mural

MONONGALIA COUNTY, W. Va. (WDTV) - Thanks to the help of volunteers, visitors to Deckers Creek rail trail will have a new work of art to admire.

The non-profit "Friends of Deckers Creek" are partnering with artist Michael McDevitt to create a park mural that is beautiful and educational.

The mural, which is located below the Valley Crossings Bridge along the rail trail, features some of the wildlife visitors can expect to see in the park.

"We are trying to combine our environmental side and just getting the community involved and interested in the environment through a beautiful mural," said executive director of Friends of Deckers Creek Sarah Cayton

The group will be meeting again Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to finish up the new mural.
