UPSHUR COUNTY, W. Va. (WDTV) - Local farmers are inviting the public to enjoy locally sourced food right where it's grown.
For the past several years Fish Hawk Acres farm has held a summer farm dinner series where 100 or so guests can come onto the farm and enjoy a meal made from entirely locally sourced ingredients.
Fish Hawk works in partnership with Green Acres farm to cater the event.
They say it all began as a way to help connect consumers with the food they're eating.
"We found over the years that so many people have become disconnected with their food, that this would be a good way to reconnect them and get them in touch with where their food comes from," said Dale Hawkins, co-owner of Fish Hawk Acres
Fish Hawk will be hosting several other farm-to-table dinners throughout the summer, one in July, one in August, and one in September.
