Flood damage only minor for Harrison County

Harrison County 911 officials said there is only minor damage from flooding. However, Harrison County is sill under a state of emergency.

Officials said most of the damage was in Shinnston and the outlying areas. On Brooklyn Street in Shinnston high water covered several backyards. One resident told us this is the worst flooding she has experienced since living on the street.

Officials said most of their calls were due to downed trees.

Road closures in the area include:

-Rt. 3, Peoria Road, in Wyatt

-Rt. 20 North just past Gregory Run

-Rt. 4 in Margarette, as crews respond to a rock slide

-Rt. 96, Hollow Road is washed out

-County Road 44/8 Grand Street is possibly washed out under the road

-County Road 40, Riverside Drive, as crews work to clear a rock slide and unplug a culvert

-Trees down on various other roads throughout Harrison and Taylor counties.
