An inmate allegedly assaulted four workers at the USP Hazelton in Preston County on Friday morning.

According to Richard Heldreth, the president of local 420 of the American Federation of Government Employees, the workers suffered minor injuries. He says the prison is on lockdown for the weekend.

We don't know the name of the inmate at this time. Heldreth said it's likely the situation could have ended quicker with more staff members working at the prison. There were three murders at the prison in 2018. This is the first known incident of 2019.
