Booking a family trip for spring break? Airfare can range widely, but there are things you can do to find the best deals on air travel.

Here are some tips from Josh Elledge of savingsangel.com:

-Book your flight about 7 weeks or 49 days in advance. Research shows this is when the prices are lowest.

-Travel mid-week – Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are the least expensive.

-Avoid baggage fees by traveling as light as possible and only bringing a carry-on.

-Consider buying two one-way tickets instead of one round-trip.

-Break up your trip into legs on different airlines.

-Buy tickets in smaller groups. Rather than buying four tickets at once, you might get a better deal buying two sets of two tickets each.

-Check fares at all nearby airports.

- Finally, follow airlines on social media to take advantage of flash deals.
