Grand larceny suspect arrested after he was found hiding in closet

RANDOLPH COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A Randolph County man has been charged after allegedly stealing a side-by-side and hiding from police.

According to the criminal complaint, witnesses told police that they believed that 28-year-old Ryan Coberly had a side-by-side that had been reported stolen in Barbour County.

During the investigation, police were alerted that the side-by-side was parked. Officials say the ignition switch had been taken out and the tires and rims had been replaced with older ones.

Officers later went to Coberly's home to serve an arrest warrant and discovered he was not there. Officials say the officers were able to follow footprints to a nearby home, where Coberly was found hiding in a bedroom closet.

Coberly is charged with grand larceny and fleeing from an officer.
