Great Spring Egg Hunt Held at Botanic Garden

MONONGALIA COUNTY W. Va. (WDTV) The first ever great spring egg hunt was held at the West Virginia Botanic Garden at 1 p.m.

Dozens of eggs were spread out around the areas as dozens of kids searched to find prizes inside.

The event, which was hosted by the "Life above the ordinary" magazine and cheat lake, had an educational twist on the Easter tradition.

The hunt also taught kids about bird wildlife- and had a show by the avian conservation center.

Coordinators say the hunt was a great way to get people out to explore the botanic gardens.

Even with the rain, around 100 kids came out to the egg hunt.
