UPDATE: Double homicide investigation underway in Charleston; victims' names released

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 3:50PM
Investigators say the deaths of two people in north Charleston are now being investigated as a double homicide.

Charleston Police identified the victims as Jenni Chesney, 47, and Kenneth Campbell, 50.

Police say the victims lived together at an apartment building in the 3900 block of Washington Street West. Police said earlier that both victims had suffered gunshot wounds.

No arrests have been made yet.

Two bodies have been found at an apartment in north Charleston.

Charleston Police say they are treating both of the deaths as homicides.

The bodies were found just after 7 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 3900 block of 7th Avenue.

Police say they found the man and woman dead inside the house from gunshot wounds.

Detectives at the scene say the victims are related. They also say the home is split into a few apartments.

The man who died was the groundskeeper, according to detectives.

A woman who lives in the home told our crew on the scene that a dog also was shot and killed.

The call first came in as a medical emergency. When EMS crews arrived, they found the bodies of both victims in the basement area of the house.

Police have identified the victims. However, they are not releasing the their names at this point.

No one has been arrested.
