House passes roads bill

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A goal of Governor Justice has been reached as the House passed a bill that funds roads.

The bill will set a higher floor on the wavering tax based on the wholesale price of gasoline. It also raises the luxury tax on vehicle purchases as well as DMV fees.

The bill was passed 59-32 and is one in a package of highway bills that the governor hopes will create 480,000 jobs and lead to $100 million in state revenue for the upcoming fiscal year.
