House votes to do away with RESAs

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) -- The House of Delegates voted Tuesday morning to do away with the Regional Education Service Agencies.

This was part of Governor Jim Justice's budget proposal.

Supporters of their elimination say it will save money and limit bureaucracy in the state's education system but those in favor of RESA's say many schools will lose support.

The bill now heads to the Senate.
