UPDATE: I-79 southbound reopens after four vehicle accident

MARION COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV)-- UPDATED 7/16/19 @ 3:47 p.m.
I-79 southbound reopened after a four vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon, according to Marion County 911 officials.

911 officials say that two people were taken to the hospital by ambulance. One person was taken to Fairmont Regional Medical Center and one was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Marion County 911 officials confirmed that four cars were involved in an accident on I-79 southbound between mile markers 132 and 133 Tuesday afternoon.

911 officials say that Winfield Fire Department, Valley Fire Department, Marion County Rescue Squad and State Police are on scene.

911 officals say that there is at least one injury and an ambulance is on scene.

911 officials say that traffic is backed up to at least mile marker 134 and drivers should turn around at exit 135.
