MARION COUNTY, W.Va.(WDTV)- Its the most wonderful time of the year, At least that's how the song goes..For many the holiday season can bring stress which can lead to domestic issues.
Holiday stresses can include money, extra responsibilities, and increased interactions with extended family.
In a survey conducted by Healthline, sixty-two percent of those surveyed described their stress level as "very or somewhat" elevated during the holidays, while only 10 percent reported no stress during the season.
Hope Incorporated Director Michele Mccord told me that most cases of domestic violence do not just appear during the holidays, she says typically its already happened and the stress of the holidays can intensify the issues that already exist.
If you or someone you know is dealing with domestic violence the best thing you can do is get help and get out
