LEWIS COUNTY, W.VA. (WDTV) -- Staff of the Lewis County School District came together at Peterson-Central Elementary School to attend a Stop the Bleed course.
Instructors showed participants how to apply life-saving procedures to dummies at different stations during the training.
This training session is meant to teach staff of the district how to perform emergency procedures including packing wounds, how to tourniquet limbs and stopping bleeding in the event of life-threatening injuries.
"We want to be ready for those situations because it takes us minutes to get to scene. We want to make sure that people on scene such as your teachers, your bus drivers, your cooks, anybody that draws a paycheck that is working at these schools will know how to perform these simple things that get bleeding stopped out in the field." said Lewis County E.M.T. Chris Starkey.
