UPDATE: Lincoln High School back in session for remainder of day

Lincoln High School was put under a precautionary code yellow Wednesday morning, according to the Harrison County Board of Education.

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (WDTV)-- UPDATE 10/09/19 @ 1:35 p.m.
Lincoln High School is now back to code green after a threat sent the school into lockdown early Wednesday morning.

Shinnston police say a threat was reported via the “Safe Schools” app. They do not know at this time whether it is connected to threats from earlier this week

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, Shinnston Police, Bridgeport Police, Harrison County SWAT, and State Police all responded to the scene.

The school remained in lockdown for several hours as all the lockers were searched by officers and K-9 units.

Officers say while school will go back into session for the remainder of the day the investigation into what caused a threat to be reported will continue.

Lincoln High School is under a precautionary code yellow, according to the Harrison County Board of Education.

The board of education says the school was put on a precautionary lock down Wednesday morning, meaning no one can enter or leave the school.

Students are safe, according to the board of education. An automated message was sent out to all parents.

There is a heavy police presence, according to Harrison County 911 officials.
