BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - The coldest air of the season is coming this way for Wednesday, December 13th. With multiple outbreaks of cold air into NCWV temperatures have been below average for much of December. However, some days will be farther below normal than others.
Sunday the 10th should see most locations not making it out of the 20s. Factor in some wind and it will probably feel like its in the teens.
While Tuesday will be transition day as frigid air replaces 'cold' air. It will also be windy. This will make it feel like its in the teens (with temperatures in the 20s and low 30s.
Wednesday will have highs in the middle 20s for most locations. We may not make it out of the teens in the mountains. While winds will be winding down, there should be enough left over to get single digit wind chills for the higher terrain.
Even with the coldest air so far, records seem to be well out of reach. For Clarksburg, Elkins, and Morgantown, we would have to get into the single digits. That looks unlikely.
We look to have temperatures moderate for late next week.
