PRESTON COUNTY, W. Va. (WDTV) - Prohibited acts lead to the arrest of a Tunnelton man who allegedly had nearly 12 grams of crystal meth on his person.

According to the criminal complaint an officer arrived at the Circle K in Masontown and found a man sleeping in a truck. The officer recognized the man as David Allen Bennett. The officer woke up Bennett and told him to turn off the vehicle and step out of the truck. According to the deputy Bennett eventually turned off and got out of the vehicle when a glass pipe fell onto the ground.

According to the deputy says he did a search of both Bennett and the truck where he found a bag with a large crystal of methamphetamine on the driver seat. The officer says he also found a pill bottle with one and a half pills of Buprenorphine and a bag with what looked to contain methamphetamine residue.

The officer did a field test on the substance and it tested positive for methamphetamine. He then weighed the collected substances which came out to a weight of 11.64 grams.
