Man arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman and stole her purse

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV)-- A Harrison County man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman and stole her purse in March 2019.

According to the criminal complaint, the driver of a Citynet truck said that he saw the victim get thrown out of a car while he was working. The driver went to check on her and take her to an officer.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim told the officer that she was beat up. When the officer asked who, she told the officer Roger Daniels and that he stole her purse.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim was riding with three other people when the car stopped. The victim said that one person got out and opened her door.

That's when Daniels and another person pulled her out of the vehicle and started to assault her, according to the criminal complaint.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim was pushed into a ditch. Daniels and the others drove away, taking her purse and cellphone.

Daniels has been charged with robbery and is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail with his bail set at $1 million.
