RANDOLPH COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV)-- A man was arrested in Randolph County after he allegedly got upset with a woman and strangled her on July 9.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told deputies that Earl Fortney got upset with and held her down.
According to deputies, Fortney struck her in the face several times then began to strangle her.
The victim told deputies that she started to go numb and almost blacked out.
According to the criminal complaint, Fortney punched her in the chest and legs multiple times until she was able to get away from him and have her daughter call 911.
Fortney has been charged with strangulation and is currently being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail with bail set at $25,000.
