Man arrested after he allegedly strangled a woman

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV)-- A Harrison County man was arrested after he allegedly strangled a woman Monday afternoon.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim went to the Bridgeport Police station to file a domestic violence complaint against Arthur Pritt of Clarksburg.

The victim told police that Pritt strangled her, causing her to pass out.

The officer noted that there were bruises on both her arms, red marks around her neck and some bursted blood vessels in her eyes, according to the criminal complaint.

Pritt was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with strangulation. Pritt is currently being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
