Man charged after allegedly breaking into, trying to hot-wire cars in Marion County

HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A Clarksburg man has been charged after allegedly breaking into and trying to hot-wire two cars.

According to the criminal complaint, multiple witnesses told officers that Joshua Tate was seen breaking into a car last Thursday. Officers say that other witness interviewed and surveillance video indicated that Tate had also broken into another car.

Officials say both cars had damage to the stealing column and ignition with wires exposed. Officials say it appeared that Tate was trying to hot-wire the cars.

Tate was taken into custody close to the scene. He is charged with Attempted Grand Larceny.
