Man facing several charges after allegedly destroying apartment; committing assault, battery

MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A Morgantown man is facing multiple charges after allegedly destroying his apartment, brandishing a knife, and committing assault and battery.

According to the criminal complaint, 31-year-old Christopher Dierolf allegedly did around 10 thousand dollars worth of damage to his apartment and threw a microwave at his roommate, who confronted him about it. A maintenance employee responded to the apartment, and Dierolf allegedly swung a knife at him and chased him.

Officials responded and took Dierolf to Ruby Memorial Hospital for psychiatric treatment. While there, he allegedly spit in an EMT's hair. He also allegedly spit on a nurse's shirt, who had just been walking by,

Dierolf is charged with destruction of property, domestic assault, brandishing and battery.
