GILMER COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV)-- A man was rescued from a house fire after neighbors went in and helped Tuesday morning.

A man was rescued from a house fire after neighbors tried to help Tuesday morning.

According to Gilmer County Fire Chief Martin Hess, the house fire happened on Rosedale Road, 45 minutes from the station.

The man was in the bed when the fire happened and couldn't get out, says Hess. Two neighbors saw the flames and went inside the burning building to help.

Bobby Moore, a Gilmer County fireman, retrieved the victim.

"Thank God it worked out the way it did," says Hess.

"Bobby's quick action and the neighbors jumping in to help. The guy's gonna make it."

The man was taken Braxton Memorial Hospital, according to Hess.
