MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (WDTV) The second annual Cupcake and Craft Beer Festival was held this Saturday in Morgantown.

Families came out to mountain state brewing company from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. as kids enjoyed cupcakes and pizza while their parents tried craft beers.

This event, created by Morgantown's own Cupcakerie and Mountain State Brewing Company, sponsors Empty Bowls Monongalia in their fight against hunger.

Cupcakerie co-owner Anna Carrier says the issue hits close to home in their line of work.

"Mountain State works with food, we work with food, so we know there's an issue with hunger in the county even though there shouldn't be. Just being close to food ourselves, if we feel like we can help out with that, we'd love to," said Carrier.

The Cupcakerie owners say the event has doubled in size since last year and they hope to do it again next year.
