MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WDTV) - The city of Morgantown celebrated the service of US military veterans with their annual Veterans Day parade.

The parade started on High Street at 10 o'clock and ended on Foundry Street. Morgantown residents lined the streets and waved flags to show support for veterans marching in the parade.

Veterans Day started in 1919 to mark the end of World War I, and was originally known as "Armistice Day".

In 1954, the name was changed to "Veterans Day", to celebrate veterans from all wars.
