UPDATE: Mineral Wells man killed in motorcycle crash in Ritchie County

A Mineral Wells man has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash on Monday in Ritchie County.

Monty Stout, 57, was killed when he lost control of his 2010 Harley Davidson and hit a guardrail, a spokesman for the Harrisville detachment of the West Virginia State Police said on Thursday.

Stout was driving west on Route 50 near Toll Gate, and no other vehicles were involved, authorities said.

The crash happened about 6:30 p.m.

A motorcyclist was killed late Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Route 50 in Ritchie County, authorities said.

According to the Ritchie County 911 center, the crash happened about 6:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Route 50 near Toll Gate, which is between Pennsboro and the Doddridge County line.

No other vehicles were involved, and the victim has not been identified.

The West Virginia State Police detachment in Harrisville is handling the investigation
