One person is dead after house fire in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, W. Va. According to Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Riffle, one person is dead after a house fire in Marion County.

Multiple crews responded to a fire at a home on Thursday morning.

According to 911 dispatch, the fire happened at about 12:00 a.m. on Lofty Lane in Fairmont.

Crews from Winfield, Bunner Ridge, Valley and Boothsville Fire Departments responded to the scene, along with Marion County Fire Rescue.

No word on if any other people were in the home at the time or what caused the fire.

The state fire marshal was called in for the investigation.

Sheriff Riffle said it is not believed to be suspicious at this time.
