UPDATE: Local pizzeria destroyed by flames in Mannington

A local pizzeria was destroyed after flames ripped through the business early Wednesday morning.

According to the Mannington Fire Chief, the building is being ruled a total loss. The cause is unknown at this time and is being further investigated. It is not believed to be suspicious in nature.

The fire is believed to have started on the ground level of Mario's Pizza in Mannington. While the outside of the building looks to be intact, the inside was heavily damaged by the flames.

No one was inside of the building at the time.

Additional crews were called to assist with battling the blaze. They include Worthington Fire, Fairview Fire, and Monongah Fire Departments.

The Mannington Fire Department is handling the investigation.

Multiple fire crews are on the scene of a working structure fire at a business in Marion County.

According to 911 dispatchers, the incident happened at Mario’s Pizza in Mannington.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

Mannington Fire, Farmington Fire, Worthington Fire, Wetzel County Fire, Hundred Fire, Mannington Police Department and the Marion County Rescue Squad responded to the scene.

A 5 News reporter is headed to the scene.
