Suspect on the loose in Chestnut Street shooting
One man is on the loose after a shooting in Morgantown early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the scene just after 2:30 a.m. for a shots fired report in the area of Chestnut Street and Wall Street.
When officers arrived on scene they discovered that several people had been involved in a fight after they left Lux Nightclub and that one of the males involved in the altercation had pulled out a handgun and fired several shots as he was running up Chestnut Street.
A female standing on Chestnut Street was hit by a bullet fragment. She was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where she was treated for a gunshot wound to the foot.
At this time the shooter has not been identified and no description is available.
The Morgantown Police Department Detective Division is investigating.
