UPDATE: Lewis County woman arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase

A Lewis County woman has been arrested and charged with Fleeing in a vehicle, obstructing an officer, driving on a suspended license, and reckless driving after leading police on a high speed chase through Lewis and Harrison County.

Heather Dawn Duncan of Jane Lew fled in her vehicle after being pulled over for speeding on I-79, according to the criminal complaint.

The complaint also says she was allegedly driving recklessly in both lanes at speeds above 80 mph to escape police. Duncan even stopped to let a passenger out of her vehicle before being apprehended.

911 officials informed police she was driving on a suspend licence after multiple unpaid citations.


One person has been detained after a pursuit which began in Lewis County and ended in Harrison County on Tuesday morning.

According to 911 dispatch, the pursuit ended in an arrest just after 4:35 a.m. on I-79 near mile marker 107.

No word yet on what initiated the pursuit, or the identity of the suspect who was arrested.
