Identities released of 2 people killed in Taylor Co. shooting

The identities of two people killed in a Boothsville shooting have been identified.

Officials say 58-year-old Kenneth Cottrell was found dead at a home at Spring Hill Acres. 41-year-old Angela Bittinger was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital, where she later passed away.

A third person was in the home when officers arrived. Officers say that person was not harmed.

West Virginia State Police say an active death investigation is still underway.

Two people are dead after a shooting at a home in Boothsville.

According to Taylor County Sheriff Terry Austin, a man was found dead and a woman passed away after being flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Austin says a third person was in the home at Spring Hill Acres and was unharmed.

A suspect has not been named at this time.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

West Virginia State Police are investigating.
