More information has been released about a robbery connected to the shooting of a man in Clarksburg.

According to the criminal complaint, Malik Edler allegedly used a gun to rob a victim who had come to buy marijuana from him. The victim told police that Edler put a gun to his head and demanded that he give him money. Once the victim complied, he was ordered to leave.

Officials say another victim was told about the robbery and went to ask Edler about the money. The second victim was let in before Edler allegedly grabbed her by the clothes, shoved her against the wall, and struck her with the gun, causing her to need staples. The robbery and assault occurred the same day that Rex Allen Bailey was shot and killed. Officials say Edler's charges of malicious assault, 1st-degree robbery, and possession of a firearm are connected to the shooting. However, an investigation is still underway.
