One person taken to hospital after Randolph County accident

RANDOLPH COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- One person was taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle crash in the Beverly area.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, traffic on Route 219/250 northbound was stopped due to road work. The driver of a GMC Sierra saw the traffic as they made a turn, and drove into an embankment in an attempt to avoid an accident. However, the truck struck a GMC 2500 pickup truck as well as a dump truck.

The driver of the GMC Sierra was taken by ambulance to the hospital. There is no word on their condition at this time.

The Beverly Volunteer Fire Department, Tygarts Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Elkins Fire Department, Randolph County EMS. and the WV Division of Highways assisted at the scene.
