BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. Snow and icy conditions are responsible for multiple accidents on I-79 and surrounding roadways in both Harrison and Marion County on Wednesday morning.
Reports of multiple accidents have been flooding dispatch logs in both counties since about 5:15 a.m. and are still ongoing.
911 officials warn that conditions are the worst on bridges and overpasses, and advise all to drive slow and use extra caution while driving this morning.
There are reports of both minor accidents and some with injuries, including a two vehicle accident on the northbound side of I-79 at mile marker 137, where one person was transported to the hospital, and another accident on the northbound side at mile marker 114, where one person was transported to the hospital as well. There was also an accident on the southbound side of I-79 at mile marker 135.6, where one person was transported to UHC.
